Nail reconstruction surgery outcomes after melanoma removal

This is a research study that looks back at the experiences of patients who had melanoma (a serious skin cancer) in their nails and received surgery to remove the cancer and reconstruct the nail area. The doctors are studying how well a specific reconstruction technique using a dermal matrix product called INTEGRA worked for these patients. The goal is to better understand outcomes and help guide treatment decisions for future patients with nail melanoma.

Melanoma of the nail is often found at an advanced stage, and doctors used to amputate the entire finger or toe. Recent research shows that removing just the affected nail area while preserving the finger or toe is possible. This study aims to document how well this newer reconstruction approach works in real patients.
