Testing two medications combined with insulin pump therapy for type 1 diabetes

This trial is testing whether semaglutide — a medication that helps your body manage blood sugar — and another medication called empagliflozin work better together or separately when combined with an automated insulin pump (often called a closed-loop system). The study will compare these two medications to placebo (a dummy medication) to see which combination helps you keep your blood sugar in a healthy range most of the time.

Even with insulin pumps, many people with type 1 diabetes struggle to keep their blood sugar stable throughout the day. Researchers believe adding these medications to pump therapy might help reduce high and low blood sugar episodes and improve overall diabetes control.
