Improving Cystic Fibrosis Care Through a Specialized Team Approach

This trial brings together a team of different specialists — including lung doctors, nutritionists, stomach specialists, physical therapists, and endocrinologists — to care for children with cystic fibrosis in one coordinated clinic. The team will work together every three months to create personalized treatment plans and adjust care based on how each child is doing. Researchers will measure lung function and a protein marker in the blood before the program starts, and then again at six months and one year to see if this coordinated approach helps children breathe better and stay healthier.

Children with cystic fibrosis often see many different doctors separately, which can lead to gaps in care and inconsistent treatment. This trial tests whether bringing all the specialists together in one place to coordinate care and use quality improvement methods can lead to better health outcomes for these children.
