Training doctors to better recognize and treat acute stroke

This trial is testing a new training approach called 'off-script diagnosis and differential diagnosis training' to help neurology residents become better at recognizing and treating acute ischemic stroke—a type of stroke that happens when blood flow to the brain is blocked. The training focuses on helping doctors apply their stroke knowledge in real-world situations, rather than just memorizing scripts. The study will compare residents who receive this new training to those who do not, and measure how well each group performs on a stroke knowledge assessment.

Acute ischemic stroke is a medical emergency where every minute counts, but many resident doctors miss diagnoses or delay treatment because they don't fully understand how to apply stroke knowledge in practice.
