If you join, you will be randomly assigned to either the Mentor Moms+ program or a standard care group. In the Mentor Moms+ program, you will meet with a trained peer mentor for five to six brief counseling sessions (15-20 minutes each) over 6 months during your pregnancy and after birth. These sessions will focus on the benefits of reducing alcohol, managing HIV risk, and taking HIV medicines if needed. You will also have alcohol and medication monitoring through simple urine or blood tests, and receive feedback to support your progress.
