New immune cell therapy for advanced blood cancer with tumor spread

This trial is testing a new treatment called dual-targeting BCMA-GPRC5D CAR-T cell therapy for patients with multiple myeloma — a blood cancer that has stopped responding to previous treatments and has spread outside the bone marrow. In this approach, doctors remove some of your immune cells, train them in the laboratory to recognize and attack your cancer, and then put the strengthened cells back into your body. The study is focused on understanding whether this medication is safe and what side effects patients might experience.

Multiple myeloma can become resistant to standard treatments, and when the cancer spreads outside the bone marrow, it becomes even more dangerous and harder to treat. This medication is being tested because early research suggests that targeting two specific proteins on myeloma cells simultaneously might be more effective than current approaches.
