Testing a new medication for heart failure and obesity

This trial is testing whether maridebart cafraglutide, a new medication given by injection, can help people with heart failure (especially those whose hearts pump at a relatively normal strength) and obesity. The study will look at whether the medication can reduce hospitalizations for heart failure, prevent heart-related emergencies, and help people feel better. Researchers will compare the new medication to a placebo (a dummy injection with no active drug) to see if it really works.

Many people with heart failure and obesity don't have enough treatment options that address both conditions at once. This medication is being tested to see if it can help prevent serious heart problems and hospitalizations in this group of patients who are at high risk.
