Understanding care for weight-loss surgery patients who stopped follow-up visits

Researchers at Nancy University Hospital want to understand what happens to people after weight-loss surgery when they stop attending regular follow-up visits. This study will contact patients who had surgery between 2013 and 2018 but were not seen at the hospital five years after their procedure. By gathering their experiences through a simple questionnaire, the researchers hope to learn how to better support patients and keep them engaged in their care.

After weight-loss surgery, regular follow-up appointments are important for monitoring health and managing any complications. However, many patients stop coming to these visits. This study exists to understand why patients become disconnected from care and how they are doing, so doctors can find better ways to stay in touch and provide ongoing support.
