Comparing a kidney nerve procedure plus blood pressure medicines to medicines alone

The SPYRAL CARE study is looking at how well a procedure called Symplicity renal denervation works for people whose high blood pressure doesn't respond well to medication alone. Researchers will compare patients who receive this procedure along with their regular blood pressure medicines to patients who continue with medicines only. The study will track both groups for two years using their medical records and insurance claims to see if adding the procedure helps lower blood pressure and prevent heart problems.

Many people take blood pressure medication but still struggle with uncontrolled high blood pressure, which increases their risk of heart attack and stroke. This study wants to understand whether this kidney nerve procedure, used alongside standard medicines, offers real benefits for these patients in everyday medical practice.
