Testing a new injection to reduce heart plaque buildup

This trial is testing a medication called olpasiran to see if it can reduce the amount of plaque building up in your heart arteries. Plaque buildup narrows arteries and can lead to heart attacks and other serious problems. The study will compare people who receive the medication to those who receive a placebo (a dummy injection with no active drug) to see if the medication actually works.

Many people have a blood marker called lipoprotein(a) that puts them at higher risk for heart disease, even when they're taking other heart medications. Researchers want to know if this new treatment can help reduce plaque in the arteries of these high-risk patients and potentially prevent future heart problems.
