Testing a new inhaler propellant for mild to moderate asthma

This trial is testing CHF5993, an asthma inhaler that contains three active medications (beclometasone, formoterol, and glycopyrronium bromide) in a new propellant gas designed to be better for the environment. Researchers want to confirm that this medication works just as safely and effectively as the current version that uses a different propellant. About 468 people with mild to moderate asthma across multiple countries will participate.

The current asthma inhalers use a propellant gas that contributes to climate change. This trial exists to prove that switching to a new, more climate-friendly propellant doesn't compromise safety or how well the medication works for asthma control.
