Two surgical approaches for glaucoma combined with cataract surgery

This trial is testing two different surgical approaches for patients who have both glaucoma (high eye pressure) and cataracts (clouding of the lens). One approach uses the iStent Inject W device, a tiny implant that helps fluid drain from the eye, combined with cataract surgery. The other approach uses the Kahook Dual Blade, a specialized surgical tool that creates a new drainage pathway in the eye, also combined with cataract surgery. Both treatments aim to lower eye pressure and reduce your need for glaucoma medications.

Many patients with glaucoma also develop cataracts and need surgery for both conditions. This trial exists to determine which surgical technique — when combined with cataract removal — works better at controlling eye pressure and reducing medication dependence in the long term.
