This research study is looking at how your genes influence your response to leflunomide, a medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers want to understand why some patients benefit from this treatment while others experience bothersome side effects or don't respond as well. By studying genetic variations in Pakistani patients, they hope to predict who will do best on the medication.

Many people taking this medication either stop because of side effects or don't get the relief they need. If doctors could predict ahead of time who will respond well and who might have problems, they could make better treatment choices earlier and help prevent lasting joint damage.
