Understanding Caregiver Support Across Alzheimer's Disease Stages

This study is looking at the role family caregivers play in caring for people with Alzheimer's disease. Researchers want to understand how much informal care (help from family and friends) patients need as their condition progresses, and how this changes depending on the severity of their memory loss, their independence level, and other health problems they may have.

In France and across the world, family caregivers provide enormous amounts of unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's disease—in fact, this informal care is worth billions of euros each year. Understanding exactly what caregivers do and how their role changes as the disease progresses will help governments and healthcare systems make better decisions about where to direct resources and support.
