Comprehensive Health Review to Improve Care for Frequent Lung Flare-ups

This trial offers people with COPD who have frequent flare-ups (3 or more per year) a structured, comprehensive health assessment. The assessment aims to confirm your COPD diagnosis, identify any other health conditions you may have that weren't previously diagnosed, and find specific health factors that, when treated, could reduce how often you have flare-ups.

Many people with COPD who have frequent flare-ups are not receiving the right care or treatment. Sometimes people are misdiagnosed with COPD when they actually have a different condition, or they have other serious health problems (like heart disease) that aren't being treated and make their breathing symptoms worse. Additionally, frequent use of steroid tablets to treat flare-ups can cause serious side effects like bone loss and diabetes. This trial wants to make sure people get the right diagnosis and targeted care to prevent unnecessary flare-ups and reduce harmful steroid use.
