Your child will be randomly assigned to use either the standard inhaler or the new smart inhaler for 12 weeks while taking their corticosteroid medication. You'll complete a daily diary tracking when the medicine is used, answer questionnaires about asthma control and quality of life at the start, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks, and have breathing tests and a measurement of inflammation in the lungs at the beginning and end. You'll also provide a blood sample and a bedroom dust sample at the start, and wear an activity bracelet for 7 days to track environmental exposure.
