Combining a liquid diet with biologic therapy for children with Crohn's disease

This trial is testing whether children and young adults with active Crohn's disease benefit from combining a special liquid diet with biologic medications called TNF alpha inhibitors (infliximab or adalimumab). The study will compare how well patients do when they replace some or all of their regular food with a medical nutrition formula during the first 6 weeks of treatment, versus those who eat normally while taking the medication. Researchers want to see if this combination helps more patients feel better and stay symptom-free longer.

Crohn's disease in children can be difficult to control, and some patients don't respond well enough to medication alone. This trial is exploring whether adding specialized nutrition support to biologic therapy might help more young patients achieve better disease control and reduce the chance of their symptoms returning after treatment.
