This trial is testing pregabalin, a medication that quiets overactive nerve pain signals. Instead of taking it as a pill, researchers will use therapeutic ultrasound to deliver the medication directly through your skin to the painful knee area. The study also includes a gentle muscle-stretching technique to help improve movement and reduce pain.

Many people with severe knee arthritis experience nerve-related pain — burning, tingling, or electric shock sensations — that doesn't always respond well to standard treatments. Pills can cause unwanted side effects. This trial is exploring whether delivering the medication directly to the knee using ultrasound, combined with physical therapy, might work better and cause fewer side effects.
