Understanding aortic tears that happen during pregnancy

This is a registry study — meaning researchers are collecting and organizing medical information from people who have experienced aortic dissection (a tear in the main artery from the heart) during pregnancy or shortly after birth. The goal is to understand how often this happens, who is at risk, and what outcomes pregnant people have. By gathering this information from multiple hospitals across China, doctors hope to improve care and outcomes for future pregnancies.

Aortic dissection during pregnancy is rare but can be life-threatening for both mother and baby. Doctors don't yet have enough information about how common it is, which pregnancies are highest risk, or what the best treatment approaches are. This study aims to fill that gap by collecting real-world experiences to guide better medical care.
