What is this trial?

This is a real-world study testing ivonescimab, an immunotherapy drug designed to help the body's immune system fight advanced lung cancer. The trial involves patients with a specific type of lung cancer that has spread locally or to other parts of the body, and whose tumors lack certain genetic changes that would require different treatments. Researchers will follow patients receiving this medication as their first treatment to see how well it works and what side effects occur.

Advanced lung cancer remains difficult to treat, especially for patients whose tumors don't have specific genetic mutations that respond to targeted drugs. This medication is being studied to see if it can offer a better first-line treatment option for these patients in everyday clinical practice.

Do you qualify?

You likely qualify if…

you are 18 years or older
you have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer (locally advanced or metastatic) that has been confirmed by biopsy or tissue sample
your tumor does not have EGFR or ALK genetic mutations
your tumor is PD-L1 positive (a marker showing your immune system may respond to this treatment)
you have not received any previous systemic cancer treatment for your advanced disease
you have good enough overall health to tolerate the medication, as judged by your doctor

You likely don't qualify if…

you have a diagnosis that includes small cell lung cancer or neuroendocrine cancer components
you have previously received systemic cancer therapy for advanced or metastatic disease (though prior surgery or chemotherapy given with curative intent more than 6 months ago may be okay)
you are unable or unwilling to use effective contraception if you are of childbearing potential
you have organ damage or dysfunction that would make it unsafe to receive this treatment
you have excessive protein in your urine (unless testing confirms it meets the allowable limits)

What participation looks like

Participants will receive ivonescimab intravenously (through an IV in the vein) at a dose of 20 mg/kg every 3 weeks. Each infusion takes about 60 minutes, though it can be lengthened if needed for tolerability. You will continue receiving the medication until your cancer progresses or you experience unacceptable side effects. The study follows routine clinical practice at your hospital, so your visits, scans, and blood tests will happen according to standard care schedules rather than fixed study-specific appointments. Researchers will continuously collect your medical data throughout your treatment to track how well the medication works and its safety profile.
