Genetic Mutations and Prostate Cancer Outcomes Study

This study is analyzing how specific genetic mutations affect prostate cancer outcomes in men. Researchers are comparing men with prostate cancer who carry rare genetic mutations (like BRCA1, BRCA2, or others) to men with prostate cancer who don't carry these mutations. By understanding these genetic differences, doctors hope to better predict which men will have more aggressive disease and need different treatment approaches.

Prostate cancer is very common, but some men develop aggressive, life-threatening forms while others never have serious problems. Recent research suggests that men who carry certain genetic mutations may be at higher risk for more dangerous prostate cancer. This study exists to confirm those findings and help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier so they can receive more intensive monitoring or treatment.
