Understanding Long-Term Outcomes in Generalized Epilepsy

This is an observational study that follows people newly diagnosed with or already living with idiopathic generalized epilepsy. Researchers will collect detailed information about your symptoms, medical history, and brain activity (using a 24-hour video recording of your brain waves) to understand how this type of epilepsy progresses over time and how it responds to treatment.

Many people with idiopathic generalized epilepsy don't know what to expect long-term—whether their seizures will respond to medication, whether they might relapse after stopping treatment, or whether they might develop related conditions like mood disorders or learning difficulties. This study aims to give doctors better information so they can help patients plan their treatment and life more effectively.
